you joined the JTB Group.

I was recruited by the then branch manager of JTB USA Manhattan when I was working for corporate sales and travel arrangement at another travel agency in New York. At that time, he left a strong impression on me with the words, “Work with us, and you’ll be able to utilize your experience in a wider range of fields.”

Since joining JTB USA, I have been involved in Business Travel Management (BTM), primarily for corporate travel arrangements and sales. And moved to MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Event,) and Group Department it also includes educational tours and handle variety of corporate events and group projects; from meetings for the clinical trial for pharmaceutical companies, corporate events and incentive tours. Now, my assignment is a Regional Manager of Central Region, which includes Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, Houston and Dallas. All branches are outbound sales branch and offer BTM and MICE deal to our corporate accounts.

It’s both challenging and enjoyable to work together with the customers to find solutions for the challenges they face. In US Central region, there are many Japanese Machine tool, Automotive and Manufacturing companies. As one of business partner, we are pleased to offer how to manage and save their costs and support them to expand business throughout cutting edge technology as well as our human hospitality, “O-mo-te-na-shi”.

We learn various challenges global corporations face when we interact with our customers. I am confident that the global network of JTB can offer services that are mutually beneficial and to help grow both ourselves and customers, by providing services catered to customers’ needs. I also believe that, based on our global experiences and knowledge, JTB can provide consultations to the companies, who are trying to set up new operations in North America. As for the future, I would like to see JTB USA to be more actively involved in arranging andsupporting cultural exchange activities. Although, these activities are already actively involved in New York, we’d like to expand our offerings and be more involved in these events, so that we can be a part of the movements to promote JTB USA as well as Japanese cultures in US.
